HVAC Repair
If your HVAC unit isn’t keeping you comfortable, it probably isn’t your imagination. With every season change, homeowners and businesses discover their HVAC system is either not working at all or not keeping them at the temperature they’ve grown accustomed to.

HVAC Repair Services: A Tale of Two Systems
There are two types of HVAC repairs that we typically see: system failures or loss in efficiency. Both situations result in the same thing: uncomfortable people sweating (or freezing) in their homes.
HVAC Failures
HVAC failures are mechanical or physical problems that prevent an HVAC unit from properly heating or cooling. In this case, the HVAC unit may not be functioning at all, meaning that a technician would need to begin eliminating and testing the various HVAC components to diagnose the issue. Multiple HVAC components could be the cause: failed compressors, bloated or defective capacitors, failed blower motors, incorrectly configured coils, etc.
Depending on the component and the age of your HVAC unit, we may recommend replacing it vs. repairs.
HVAC Loss of Efficiency
The other more common situation we see is an overall loss in HVAC efficiency. In this case, the system maybe technically heating or cooling, but at such a reduced efficiency that it doesn’t seem like it’s working correctly. While all HVAC systems tend to lose efficiency over time as components wear down, In this case, the problem may not be a mechanical issue, but certainly a situation that requires professional assessment.
- Coils can frequently become dirty, damaged, or frozen. When airflow is prevented from around coils, the HVAC system has trouble heating and cooling properly.
- Leaks are common issue for many HVAC systems. While leaks can happen in refrigerant lines (which impact the unit’s ability to cool), leaks are also frequent throughout the HVAC system and can result in air condition or heating loss before it reaches your home.
- Clogged lines can also cause issue with your HVAC system. The moisture in your HVAC system requires a clear, free flowing drain to operate properly. A clogged drain will make it difficult for your system remove excess moisture from the air.
- Airflow is critical important for your system to function properly. Even something as simple as an incorrectly installed filter or air duct vent could be causing a loss in heating or cooling ability.
